She won't fit!
I have a 20 foot Intruder 2003 with a Rogue trailer, and I'm looking for a way to fit it in a garage that has a 95 inch maximum width door. The width of the Intruders trailer is 100 inches fender to fender. Having a custom trailer is my only option right now. What have you guys done to make it work.
Is there anyone out there that will or has done a modification?
Please HELP!

Re: She won't fit!
Option 1. Sawzall
Option 2. More speed
You might be able to widen the opening if the existing garage door overlaps enough to cover a larger opening. This might be cheaper than a custom trailer. You will also have to consider the bracing and width of the existing header before you start cutting.
Good Luck!

Re: She won't fit!
Yikes, that is a tough one. Maybe as a short-term workaround, remove one fender and wheel, and rig up some sort of dolly to support the axle as you back it in.
Another ugly possibility is pull off the trim facing on the inside door frame, and determine what the actual rough opening width is between the studs/posts that frame the door if it is over 100 inches, you might be able to terminate the door track just above the fender level. Then rig up some type of swing door for the lower portion.
Neither one are good options, I'm just thinking out loud.

Re: She won't fit!
I had the same problem with my trailer and garage door, but not to the extreme that you have. I had a 96" garage door and a 97" wide trailer. My first thought was to install a 8'-6" garage door, but no room to expand left and right and also the header above the garage door was holding up the beam that the 2nd story was built on. That put a stop to that idea.
So plan "B" was to put a shorter axial under the trailer. Down to SIX ROBBLEES' and purchased a axial 2" shorter. Now with a good running start and a 1/2 jar of vasoline it will go in. Needless to say, I put the boat in the garage only during the off months. I also installed 2' of aluminum angle metal on the garage door trim. Kept hitting the wood with the boat trailer fenders.
Don't know if this will help in your situation.GOOD LUCK.

600 square foot add on, That way you have the extra room for your boat AND new bathroom ,recliner, and 50" flat screen . Oh and a intercom so the wife can keep in contact with ya.

I had the same problem. I chose to widen the garage and heighten the header. I got that work all done then found a off site storage place that was more convenient. The wife was really ****** oops.

Re: She won't fit!
A trailer with a more narrow track width is likely going to mean the boat will have to sit higher off the ground. This will make ramp-launching more difficult, will change the center of gravity (stability) of the boat on the trailer, etc. The better solution is to widen the door (if possible) or find off-site stoorage. There are some garage "condo" complexes popping-up. It's basically a garage space that you buy/own vs rent.

Re: She won't fit!
I appreciate all of the feed back, does anyone have or has seen a 20' foot Intruder Alumaweld rest on another brand trailer other than Rogue.
Huntorfish?, I notice that you are from thesame side of the pond as I am. Is your storage unit covered if so are there any open stalls and how much.

Re: She won't fit!
I actually had a similar problem was not 4 inches though. Mine was 2 inches too wide. You may laugh at the sawzall solution but it was what I did. Cut out a 1 1/2" on each side through the facing boards and trim neatly the height of the fenders. Now to put the boat in I pull the boards out. Back it in and then put the boards back. You can barely notice it.

Re: She won't fit!
A ramp built on the diagonal would let the trailer pass, but not so sure about the boat staying on the trailer.

Re: She won't fit!
how wide is the hole in the concrete stem wall? 98 1/2" to 100 1/2" would be normal for an 8' overhead door. a non stemwall constructed garage is easy, but expensive.
