Default Installed My Smart Tabs (Zoom-Zoom)

Installed my Nautica Smart Tabs (Trim Tabs) prior to my 2 days of weekend fishing and I have to say I like what I see so far...

I made a small adjustment to the left one after my trip on Saturday and the performance was even better Sunday...

You talk about putting a nose of a boat down in a nano-second, these things do it...

I still have to get a feel for the power trim on my motor when running but if 5800-6000 RPMs as well as 52 MPH according to the GPS is any indication then she is golden...

I really like the 4500 RPM feel to these things though...Very, Very stable and I bet eqaully as effecient in regards to fuel economy...

Hunter...glad to hear you're impressed with them this early. I'm having mine installed on my 16' Alumaweld flatbottom tomorrow! It has 115 Yamaha pump...I can't wait 'till next weekend to check out the enhanced performance!!!

OverFifty...

I definately will need time to make the final judgement but my longtime fishing partner was very impressed with the plaining capability and the stability...

He said he could tell a big change in the performance & handling...

I am anxious to get it out on the big blue because I want to see how it handles a swell...

My hull is a 17 degree so it does dig through them pretty well but only time will tell...

I have been told that I will see a big difference in fuel economy as well...

I've had Nauticus Smart tabs on my boat for over two years. Single best improvement I've made to the boat. It comes up on plane even at slower speeds and automatically adjusts all the way to red line. Fuel economy and stability greatly improved. Unlike hydraulic trim tabs, there are no switches to operate. Now I can see over my bow. Speed increased from 19 mph tops to 32-35 mph (17.5' glass boat with cuddy cabin and 70 hp Evinrude). Fuel economy greatly increased. There are a range of Nauticus Smart tabs (what varies is the size of the tabs, and the pressure of the gas actuaed struts), which you select for your boat based on boat length and horsepower. Although you cannot (and do not need to) adjust the tabs while you are cruising, you can fine tune the performance of the tabs (when your boat is back on its trailer) by changing the settings on the mounting brackets. I bought mine at West Marine for $200.00. What surprises me is that these tabs are not more well known than they are.

RedBull...

$189.99...and well worth it...Sorry RedBull, I just pulled my invoice so not as much as I previously posted...

Waterfish has obviously seen the benefits of these tabs and I am very excited about the performance after the 1st weekend...

Todd,

The big thing I noticed is the increased RPMs...

That boat is up on a more level plain and it is skimming the surface...

The cavitation is very minimal and my top speed prior to the install of the tabs was in the 45 - 50 MPH range...

I am excited to see how the fuel economy does...This is where I hope I am going to be the most happy...

Here you go Shane...

http://www.funtimeinflatables.com/smart_tabs.htm

Like I said a few weeks ago... I watched a demo for these things on "Ship Shape TV"

I am sucker so what can I say... However, so far...so good...

You can buy these at West Marine by the way and probably $20 - $30 cheaper

Good Luck...

You can also get these tabs direct from the manufacturer at 25% off. These tabs do have blemishes though.
