I was wondering what batteries work best for a 36 volt Minn-Kota. I just got a used one and looking into batteries, wanted to check in on any do's and or dont's. Any suggestions? Thanks guys!
You'll probably get a lot guys that recommend the Optimas. I picked up 3 Trojan deep cycles for around $50.00 each and called it good. They are a a bit bulkier and heavier than the Optimas, but I'm on year 3 and theyre still going strong.

I dont know that an on board charger would be the best. The batteries will be for a drift boat. I will more than likely be taking them out after every trip.
I take my batteries out after every trip, and have a 3 Bank charger set up in the garage. I use the boat over 50% of the time without the motor, so I didn't want to permanently install everything in the boat.[/quote]
That was my plan, thanks for the advice.
