Default Springers return to where on the Clack?

How far up do the Spring Chinook go on the Clackamas?(hatchery fish) Do they collect them at the North Fork Dam and recycle them? Do they stay bright? It would be interesting to catch them in that area because the river is so narrow. Thanks for the insight.

I dont think hatchery spring chinook get to go farther than river-mill-dam but i think, after the hatchery gets thier 1% of fish they may send a few up river but i dont know for sure because i believe a few years ago they made the upper clak a wild & senic river and i have also seen alot of wild spring chinook in the upper narrow river (when fly-fishing for trout) but i did not want to fish for them because i knew they were wild fish.

Most go to the dog creek hatchery, but they do allow them to get as high as NF dam (where they are trapped and recycled back down river)

they go up to NF dam but they don't bite very well. the fly guys do pretty good. only wild fish are allowed above the dam. the water is so narrow up there its like fishing in a gutter. i find it very difficult to fish with the gear i use (spinners & spoons). its also very hard not to spook the fish up there since the water is crystal clear most of the time. if the springers make it up that far without getting caught than they're probably not good biters in the first place.
