Default Finally!

When it comes to taking tests I am really bad. I'm the only guy I know that could fail an open book test. So I have been putting off getting that boat license, knew I couldn't pass it. Well I did, yesterday! Got an 82! There is a God! Have no idea what to do now so I'll call Madras Marine and ask them.

Kokanee season is around the corner I think, never fished for them in Ore. All I need it a new prop for my old worn out motor and me and the old worn out boat are going! My home made down rigger's are ready, I got a bunch of stuff that looks like the picture's I've seen here, and two new rods, one spinning one casting, just for them.

If you see some old guy in an old blue boat muttering it's because you guy's forgot to tell me something about this trolling business and I didn't find it in the book I read.

See ya!!!

Congrats and good luck with the coming season!

I'd offer advise, but the only way I've ever done well on Koke's is jigging a small Kastmaster.

Feel free to PM me anytime with your questions;;;I fish Green Peter a lot trolling with downriggers..for flashers and various things to pull behind them, pull up Shasta Tackle Co on the web; also pull up FWG for a great assortment of luhrs; he also has free on his webseit, a 13-page document on kokanee fishing that is very good. FWG means Fish with Gary. He was at the Sportsman Show this year and very helpful.

I usually start in earnest at GP in May, but fishing doesn't really turn on until June there for the biggies.

Good Luck

Don- You helped me with my dog so if there's ANYTHING you need from me let me know. I know the lakes around Central Oregon well and have caught alot of kokanee. If you want to tag along I like to fish Paulina, Odell, or Crescent in early June. Just holler. Congrats on the license.

Congratulations on passing the test. You're set for life now. This is a very advice-friendly forum with lots of knowledgeable folks willing to help each other out. If you have any questions just ask. It's not likely that you'll get flamed here for asking about (or sharing) specific fishing areas either . Looking forward to your posts on the trout/koke forum.

Congratulations on passing the test. LBC is starting to get some koke action already, a couple reports in the middle of the bull trout threads on this forum. The fella at the bait shop on the Culver highway in Madras seems to always have a good pulse on the fish and he is fun to stop in and talk to anyway.
