bowstring twist

How important is it to have all the twist in the string? On my new parker is syas 40 twists to the string and 20 twists to the buss cables. Do you really need all the twist?

I guess I would wonder why you would want less twists? Are you trying to lengthen the draw?

Just wonder about the twist, that is all.

It just depends on the manufacturers specifications to get the proper length. I remember reading somewhere that they should not have more than one twist per inch like a 40 inch string should not have more than 40 twists. But the main thing is that the string and cables remain in spec.
