You'll know how fast you need to go as your bait hits the water. It ain't rocket surgery. There isn't one perfect roll either. Make it spin and keep it near the bottom. I also like to use bigger leads. Instead of 4oz in the back I'll go 6's and 8 or 10 on the front rods. I always troll with the current then run back up. I don't know where you'll be fishing but this has worked for me from the airport all the way to Cathlamet...Good luck homes RD
Slow and spinning are the only things that really matter. After watching a well know guide hammering fish one day I asked him what I was missing and his response was, "They're right on the bottom and you don't have to be in gear". Mooching ala I-5 style
