Didn't want to wait for them in the mail, or pay for them. So i got these instead. 11.99 for the pair, a little mule tape, and voila. Drift socks. Anybody tried this sort of a set up, Advice? Anyways im gonna try em out tomorrowray:
They work great, but now that I've been spoiled by drift socks, I probably couldn't go back. The water drains out of the socks so nice compared to the buckets.
Would more holes, or some bigger holes work better, or is that about as sufficient as i can get a bucket too work. well off to the river we'll fins out i guess.
Theyll work great, That's what I use, The only thing about em is that you have to let them all the way behind the boa so they don't scratch the boat, so sometimes you need to pull it in when you are pulling a fish in to that side of the boat.
I like the use of buckets, they fit inside each other while holding gear and rope when needed. (Atleast until I get a bigger boat)
Will work, but they take up a lot of room in the boat when you don't need them. The real socks fold up and you can stuff them away somewhere. :twocents:
Grommets in the rope holes will prevent fraying. A rope attached to the bottom will make removal and draining easier.
