Default Help on getting 20\' Trophy set-up for ocean

Hi,

Need to know if anyone has a 20' Trophy that I can take a look at on how it is set-up for ocean fishing. I just purchased a 1991 20' Trophy 2002. Need to know the set-up for downriggers, duel batteries, and electronics. Thank you very much for any help you can give me.

Im no ocean goin expert..... but first thing i would do is take a coast guard class.... THEN i would take a few trips out on someone elses boat for hands on experience and instruction ... THEN i would go to a good coastal rigging shop and get the advice and instruction on how to accessorize your boat.
WAIT...that IS what i did....

Good luck, and boat smart

Mike

Ray, first of all, I fish out of Ilwaco and have a 23' Whaler. My friend and fishing partner has a 20' Grady and my brother in law has a 24' trophy. We are all equiped about the same. I don't have a down rigger yet but will be adding one this year. I have done a lot of homework and spoken with other fisherman. I have decided to go with a Scotty electric. As for electronics, I have 2 charting GPS's (one as back up), a VHF, a CB, and a Hummingbird widebeam fishfinder. I just acquired a Radar and haven't got it mounted yet. DUal batteries are a must. I also think having a handheld VHF for backup would be a good Idea as well. The Trophy is a nice fishing platform and you should get a lot of enjoyment out of it.

Finnlander, thank you for the offer. What year is your Trophy? I'm retired so I'm avaiable at any time. Just let me know when and where. Ray
