Default Gun show prices

I was wondering if anyone has been at the gunshow. I am interested in buying a reasonably priced AR-15. Is it worth my time to drive up there from Salem or should I just wait the 12-16 weeks and buy one online.

There are a few up there, I was there last night. Keiths has his normal setup with some Bushmaster A2's and a few M&P15 flat tops and there are fa few other tables with AR's. Most seem to be priced 1049-1300 with a few much higher. Not a ton of selection but there are some avail.

Everything is more expensive. Three years ago they were selling AR-15's NIB for $800-850, now they start at $1199. Ammo is the same, with 1000 rounds of .223 starting around $300. Everything is in high demand.

Thank you for the replies. It looks like I'll order one from Del-Ton for $750. If anyone has ever fired one let me know. The reviews on them seem very good but it will take me a while to get one in my hands.

You are better off building your own right now if you want to get one for under a $1000.00. Check out ar15dotcom oregon hometown forum, lot of good information there and nice bunch of guys

Building one yourself is the best bet, and it's not that difficult. I did my first one and only took about 1 1/2 hours ( and that was taking my time). I purchashed mine from model 1 sales and was very happy. One thing to consider is to purcahse one in the 5.56 nato chambering , there is a small difference in the neck of the case on the 5.56nato vs .223 remington. If you purchase the 5.56nato you can shoot both surplus ammo and production .223. But I have heard if you try to shoot 5.56 nato surplus from a .223 rem chamber you can have jamming issues. Also you feel a great sense of accomplishment when you build you own riffle.. Good luck, and check out the ar15 website lots of usefull info.

Be sure and check out the ifish classifieds. There have been several lately at reasonable prices.
