Default Hook sizes

I was wondering what everyones theory is on hook sizes for soft plastics and what style do you prefer when worming? I think the biggest hook you can get without compromising action. As for worm hooks I cant make up my mind traditional worm hook or offest roundbend?

i fish up to a 12/0 BAM BAM!!! lol

i love the gami EWG like basshound said, as well as Matzuo X Wide Gap thin wire hooks. I usually fish a smaller hook then most people when it comes to typical worms, about a 1/0 or 2/0. But like to go just short of half way.

I fish 3/0 4/0 and 5/0 EWG Gamakastu on most of my tubes and senkos I have a 7/0 owner wide gap for my 10' worms. For 4" worms I use alot of 1/0 and 1s. Drop shot 2 and 4. What is the best worm hook style EWG, offset round bend or traditional straight shank?

I like an offset roundbend in about a 2/0 and have been making my own with stainless dental wire! I temper it to a bronze color and it has just the right amount of spring.

Hey all good comments, you have to remember the more beafy the bait the more hook you need. If you have too small of hook the bait is going to fill the hook so much that it will be hard to set the hook. Also in alot of cover you can use bigger hooks cause you are not worried about your presentation so much. In clear water the bigger hooks can throw off the natural presentation of a bait so you might go with a step down. These are just what I go with. I also think it depends on the person. Some people have soft hook sets so a bigger hook is more likley for them, but some people can set a hood through a brick so it does not matter to them much. Just fish what you think is goin to work, and if doesn`t try bigger or smaller.
