Jacket found / Siletz report
"Caught" a nice Patagonia fleece on the Siletz (up in the gorge) yesterday. Passed it up initially, but it was still hanging there when I came back by later on. It was on a dead-end piece of bank, and I didn't see anyone else on the way in or out, plus it was too early in the morning (still awfully cold & damp) for anyone to be peeling layers off already, so I figured whoever left it must have done so at least the day before and wasn't coming back any time soon. Just thought I'd check to see if anyone here was/is the rightful owner. If so, just give me some sort of legit ID--like size/color and/or where it was lost/found--and I'll gladly return it one way or another. Otherwise, i'll just have to consider it cosmic payback for all the gear I lost when the Siletz took my buddy and I for a swim the week before.
Oh, and the fishing... Pretty slow by my count. Had one small, bright hen(?) follow my spinner right up into plain view, plus I saw 2-3 others all in the same area that were bigger and darker, but that was it for the day. Tried bobber & jig too, also no love. Didn't see anyone else who appeared to have any luck, either. Plenty of other folks around, but not as crowded as i'd feared; dunno if people are getting diverted by early springer fever or what. Water looked great, and weather turned out nice in the afternoon--great day to be out, if only the fishies would cooperate better.
