Default Depoe Bay ?

When coming and going from Depoe Bay, what radio channels do most people monitor for info on inbound/outbound boat traffic?

There's also the horn blasts signifying coming in or going out. What's the sequence on that?

From http://www.boatoregon.com/Library/CoastalGuide.pdf -

"All vessels are required to sound one prolonged (four to six seconds) blast when departing or entering Depoe Bay. Local protocol gives the right-of-way to any inbound vessel."

On either the vhs or cb, what would be the proper wording to announce your arrival or departure to or from the harbor?
Depoe Bay traffic? Depoe Bay traffic this is ******, I am departing/arriving Depoe Bay. All clear? Over.
Something like that or what?
Thanks for the help.

Some folks ask for channel clearance including some of the charters.
And some times it will be given to you from Tradewinds office or one of there charters or from a private boat.
I've even given it before from my van when I was either parked at the port docks or driving to or from.

My old dory used to be called the Simon Peter and I would normally say; "the Simon Peter is outbound", or; "the Simon Peter is inbound".

Often times I will hear; "small boat entering Depoe Bay Harbor".
That's when I usually get on the mike and say; "USS New Jersey outbound".

If you need assistance from Dockside Charters they are on CB 35 or 80 on the "V" also.

Thanks! I always heard there was a procedure for getting in and out of Depoe Bay, but everytime I have been in and out it was on somebody elses boat. I always had my head down working on gear and not watching the capt.
