Great site, Birdnest, with really clear pics and explanations.
One of the tips I picked up at a TA meeting was to run a bead down the leader above the crimp. That way, if your line wrapped around the leader or down by the crimp, it would ride on (or slide off) the bead rather than abrade on the crimp itself.
Anyone know a cheap source for those crimpers? They're about $30 or so at most places I've seen them. I've been using my electrical crimpers like the ones I carry for butt-connectors, etc, but I don't think they do as good a job on this stuff as the pricey ones do. I just can't bring myself to shell out the bucks for one.
