Default Congrats to my fellow graduates!

Congrats to the honorary class of February 2004 Beaverton Power Squadron Boating Class graduates last night!

Edsr, Bait'O Eggs, Reel Creel, Mark(sorry I don't know your Ifish moniker), and myself all passed the class with flying colors.

If you need to know anything about regulations, navigation, or seamanship.....................don't ask us!

This question is for bait o eggs:

When crossing a bar, what do the flashing lights on the Coast Guard tower/station mean?

Yeah, thats a good thing to get that out of the way. And I agree with Bait o eggs... SLOW!!! Bitter end working end Blah Blah Blah. But I will say that it was good to learn about charts and some of things a little bit. lets go see the coast guard and take one of their classes.

Thanks Rod for bringing this up on the board in a positive way, it was positive and as boring as it was, it still had some merit. Then there was the sales pump to join the power squaderon, give me a break to parade up and down the willamette river and check out whos got the best looking knots, deck shoes and what ever else there is to nit pick about. WHO CARES!!! lets go fishing.

Congrats, guys! Tenacity counts.

DipSeaDiver and I took their Coastal Navigation class last year and, well, it sure as heck wasn't boring.

I did as well as could be expected.

When did they put flashing lights on the jetty

I was pretty dissapointed with the class for the first few classes. Spending hours and hours being told trivial stuff was getting boring. This is Starboard, this is port, ....now lets review.... This is port, this is starboard. When you buy rope in a store it is rope, when you put it on a boat it becomes line, when you fasten it to your anchor it becomes rode. Still the same piece of rope but the name changes When was the last time you told somebody to pull the rode

Before the class was over I was happy I took it. Did a little charting and learned a little about maps, and navigation buoys and markers. I didnt know what range boards were or how to use them ....etc.....

Might be time to take a few Coast Guard classes.

The more you learn, the dumber you realize you were

To my classmates
