Default New Port Bottom fishing

Went fishing out of New Port yesterday on a charter boat. Ocean was nice, bar was closed to 40' and under. The fishing was great. Which probably has as much to do with the skipper as anything. There were ten of us fishing on the boat. We ended up with a boat limit of lings and rock fish. That includes the skipper and deck hand, they caught their limits too. 24 lings and 120 rock fish. The boat was the Umatilla, the skipper was Terry. This was the first time I ever went fishing on a charter and I was impressed with whole operation. The boat was big (50') so there was lots of room. The skipper kept us in the fish. Just a really nice day on the ocean with lots of fish.

TERRY Captain of the Umatilla is great!

Ive gone out with his charter trips twice, sounds like a great catch. That captain is always on the spot with bottom fish or salmon.

Ill have to get out there this season and get a ling or two.
