Fish Tales and I went over the hill this morning over in the grass lands east of Madras, on the Second set up we keyed the Fox pro up on MR. Dieing Rabbit called for about 30 seconds stopped called again in about two min. for 30 seconds waited for about 3 min. then called again for about 2 min. seen a yote cross from left to right about 160 yds away and go into the brush, I give a couple of quick blasts on the Fox Pro and waited, NO yote showed. So I keyed up the caller and let it play and in about 1 min. into the flurry of rabbit squals, here comes a yote out of the brush where the other one had went in. It walked up the hill to the right and got about 10 yds closer and it turned broadside and stopped so I raised the my new .243 Rem. up , put the cross hairs at the top of the shoulder and squeezed the trigger and the yote dropped in it's tracks. Come to find out I hit it right were I had aimed, blew out the back bone and a lot of flesh. The shot was aprox. 150 Yds. long.
I drug her ( female yote ) back to where we called from and was going to take her back to the truck for picture taking , decided not to take her back to the truck as it was 1/3 of a mile away, so I got a couple of Pic's with the cell phone camera. I will post them when I figure out how to get them off my cell phone. I am challenged in that department

Way to go, I wish I was as lucky tonite. Did get a couple to howl back at me and my buddy but they were way off and it got dark super quick, maybe tomorrow morning.

And your point is???

If you only knew how unsteady I am shooting targets off hand anymore and then a yote never the less at 150 yds or so, it was like a miracle sent from God that I hit it.

Dropped two of 'em yesterday here in Umatilla county. No .243 action, we called 'em in close enough for our scatterguns. "BOOM!" Flop.

It was a good fir till the bullet hit then it was not a good fir, I am not shooting a bullet that is easy on firs .243 Win shooting a 80 grain Nosler ballistic tip. I hit it about 2 to 3 inchs below the back right where the neck starts , it blew the back bone apart and all the flesh above it was gone. One great big wound.

Now as far as the picture goes my internet use is blocked on my cell phone so can't send it to my self. I pushed the wrong buttons one time and got about a $10 charge on my bill so had it blocked from then on, I even blocked text messaging. I'll call verizon and see if there is another way to retrive the picture from the phone..

And to Santiam 338 you are right I see how it would strike some one funny, I should have said it differently, no one has ever accused me of using good english
