Default What trailcam do you recommend?

I did a search for trailcam threads but did not find much for recommendations.

Which ones are good....which ones are bad...is cabelas a good store to buy from?

Dont know too much about them just would like to know some basic info on what is good....infrared...megapixels and any other tips that you learn after you buy one and find out that its not all that you wanted it to be.

Thanks for the help....

Second the Scoutguard The Sg550v, IS the newest one $226 Shipped.. They work on IR & color for daylight. Some folks Back east had them out to -15 degree's with no issues. THAT IS COLD!!!..

Chaingame. Best source for Info. They test all kinds & will give you the User Info, in simple terms. Not the salesman speak.

View the trail cam Thread, for 2008 & Now the 2009. Lots of different trail cam models.

Good luck, They are fun As with High on the list for theft. Must hide them well.

Lot's of good ones out there, not very many GREAT ones out there. The Scoutguard is a GREAT choice if you don't mind IR (and I don't). Scoutguard or any of the others with the Boly media guts, so DLC Covert II, or the new Bushnell Trophy cam (should be a great cam when it gets here).
On Cabela's: yes, good place to buy, BUT: they don't currently have any of the Boly Media cams (though they will carry the Bushnell Trophy), and they just changed their return policy on cams to 60 days.
