Default Re: does freezing fishing line damage it?

Sounds like a great idea to me! I don't think freezing mono is going to hurt it one bit. I did a quick search andc came up with this stuff...doubt it's a lot different from most mono's.

Default does freezing fishing line damage it?

I recently bought a 12 inch needle (for some sort of sewing?) from a craft store and I've decided that I want to thread my line through the jumbo herring and then tie on two circle hooks, on in the middle and one on the bottom for halibut this year. I realize that the process of tying hooks is going to be very time consuming and if I want to change baits I'll have to change leaders so my plan is to tie a bunch up before hand and freeze the bait individually so once the season opens I can just grab what I need and go.

My only wonders are whether or not this is going to damage my leaders? I could use wire but tying with with heavy mono will be easier (especially with two hooks) and is usually adequate for the fish I'll be catching.

I'm thinking that if this does work my bait will never come off unless mr FB eats it and I won't have to tie bait on at sea. Has any one else tried something like this?
