Default adding a second bilge pump.

I'd like to add a second bilge pump to my SuperVee. Can I put a Y on the existing hose and run the both pumps out the same hose? I'd only be running one at a time, but like the idea of having a back-up pump.

The problem I'm having,is that AW ran the bilge hose thru a box filled with floatation foam. To route a second hose,I'd have to cut out some of the foam to run the hose.

I think you should run a second hose, if you T into the existing hose your volume of discharged water will be diminished. You should be able to use a sharpened piece of PVC pipe slightly larger than the hose you will be using to remove a core of foam without jeopardizing the flotation qualities.Hope this helps!
