I'm looking to subscribe to some hunting magazine's. Preferably Elk but any will do. I just need some new material to read.
Any suggestions?
Thank you

Re: Hunting magazine's?
Oregon Hunter (join OHA!!!) and Real Hunting is a GREAT new mag! Check out there site below...it's about real hunters like you and me. They're doing a great special at the show in PDX this week. I've got my 2 year subscription! OHA is still my favorite...not only to support what they do, but it's a great read focused on our state.

Re: Hunting magazine's?
OHA is great for keeping up to date on OR issues, short stories and local tactics. I used to love RMEF's Bugle but I quit sending money to the foundation because of their neutrality and lack of willingness to stand up and support the position of the majority of thier readers when the predator issue really started to take off. If you can get hold of some of the early Bugle magazine there are none better for telling true to life hunting stories. I would still buy the magazines if they were on the stand.
Eastmans seems like a good choice. In fact I may stop by the booth and subscribe. Muley Crazy is also a pretty cool one, plenty of monster bucks!

Re: Hunting magazine's?
I don't know if this was said (I didn't read every post), but hit up your local library.
Many libraries carries months/years worth of magazines. My local library has the last 3 years of the OHA mag.
Best part is, it's FREE.

Re: Hunting magazine's?
FUR-FISH-GAME...this magazine rules. Yeah..it's nationwide, so you see articles about stuff all over th USA and Canada...but every month you're going to see real articles by guys and gals just like the ones posting stories on I-Fish. It's pretty evenly split among trapping, hunting, fishing...but I really love it.
It's published out of Ohio. $12 per year or something like that.
It's definitely not just a trophy magazine..again..depends on what you want to see.

Thanks guys I think i'm going with Bugle, Eastmans bowhunting Journal and Hunting Illustrated. I'm putting in for my Rocky Mt. Foundation membership. I checked out their website and like what i see.
OHA is out of the qeustion, i just moved to washington a few months ago. I live in a very small town and our library don't carry much, i have already checked. In order for me to receive it there i would have to order it every month.

Or become a non-resident member; I was in that situation for the first 5 years of my membership in OHA.
Don't worry, it still gets to you in the mail.

Re: Hunting magazine's?
At the Sportsman Show I picked up a free copy of Real Hunter.
Quality magazine in my opinion. Great layouts in articles and ads. The stories are mostly big game. Two bird articles. Story of a youth hunts. $25 for one year 45 for 2 years. Looks like 6 issues a year.
There web site. realhunting

The results we all dream of - monstermulies
Met the creator of this magazine last year. Great guy based out of Utah. He travels all over the Western US. He drove from UTah to Post, Oregon to look at the mounts in there. If anyone knows where Post is, you get bonus points in my book...

My two favorites are Bear Hunting Magazine ( http://www.bear-hunting.com/) and Washington-Oregon Game & Fish (WOgameandfish.com). OHA has improved a lot in the last couple of years and I do enjoy Bugle as well.
