Default steering cable replacement

Thunderjet Luxor, '19 inboard with american turbine pump, has anyone ever replaced the steering cable themselves? looking to find out what others think as far as level of difficulty, things they wished that they had done differently and where to look for the least expensive replacement

thanks for the help

Default Re: steering cable replacement

i just did one on my 20' CW. obviously tear out dang near everything on the inside. you can just get the cable and pinion rack for the back if you have that type. you don't need the whole kit. mine was 19'..just call TJ and find out the length they used. my thru hull fitting needed repacked with marine grease and a new seal/cap
