Here is what a guy told me and I haven't tried it yet.
"I'm no guide or expert, but I use the same cure as for eggs. Like red or orange Pro Cure. I have done them with and w/o the shell. Seems to work both ways. I just tumble the shrimp (of any size)in a plastic bag with "plenty" of powdered cure and then refrigerate them in a sealed plastic container, with plenty of cure. (I hear you shouldn't use metal containers or bowls.) I shake the container once and a while to keep it mixed up well in the fridge. After several days, they are ready to go. I rinse them off and they are pretty colorful and solid and stay on my hook well. I have kept them in the fridge for 3+ months and they were still good. Then I add some shrimp scent and the rest is up to the fish. (Cocktail shrimp do well cured this way for trolling for trout and kokenee!) Let me know if it works for you or if you get other good recipes. I am always looking for a better way."

Hope it helps!

Catch,

Are you sure this was done with sand shrimp and not regular shrimp?

I don't think it can be done,I have seen them freeze dried but not cured. Someone told me that Sandshrimp are mostly liqued with very little meat. I have had some luck keeping them alive I take a tupperware type shoe box and put a disp. baby diaper on the bottom then I lay down some wet paper towls place the shrimp on the paper towel and lay another wet paper towel over that, keep cool and they should last about a week. Also if you shake them up [like some do in the store] I've heard this causes them to urinat and and have a high amount of amonia thats what kill's them early. Hope this helps and I hope I'm right or we both have trouble.

put them in a container with just enough water to cover them. Freeze it and then you have a nice block of crab bait you can put in a bait bag

Catchalot, thats for prawns/shrimp, not sand shrimp.

I have had success freezing them. You can use an old jar with lid, dump your live shrimp in there and freeze. They are good for a month or two at the most. I tried this one year during the winter when we were having one storm after the other and it was hard to get fresh shrimp. I figured fresh dead shrimp was better than no shrimp! Needless to say the frozen shrimp caught me fish!
