Default Boulton Deadrise 16 vs 18 Degree models

I am looking at either the Boulton SeaMaster Skiff 22' with 18 degree deadrise and 108" beam, or the new Boulton Pro Series Skiff 22' only available in 16 degree deadrise but with the new step hull reverse chine and 84" beam.

I live in Southeast Alaska and we have steep, close together, 3-5' chop with regularity.

I know the SeaMaster is a lot more boat space wise, and I know the Pro Series skiff is to new to the market. Anyone here been on the Boulton Explorers with the reverse chine (like the commercial explorers)? For that matter anyone ever been on a aluminum boat and can tell me how great the reverse chine is?

Thanks,
Sobie2

It does not answer your question but I'd check the width regs you might have to permit to trailer it if it is over 102".

The reverse chined boats I've rode in are rougher riding.

When I was boat shopping my choices where narrowed down to the 21ft Boulton Sea Skiff and the 21 North River Sea Hawk. I rode in both boats in ruff water. I thought the Boulton rode and handled good but when I drove the North River it was alot smoother. What also was a factor was the North River came standard with trim tabs. The boulton it was a option which means more $$. The North River rode really well with out them but once ajusted it was really really nice. For Me I know I made the right choice.

I like the new Boulton Pro Series with the 84" bottom reverse chine it is very stable and does not list to the side when you get everybody to one side of the boat. The ride is great with a 16 degree V and would be great for that area your in it has more stifferners in the bow & bulk head for the chop (Very Strong). I would buy Boulton boat before any other on the market they sit down with you and build your custom boat.....
