Default New boat???

I'm looking to upgrade, I think I've narrowed it down to a C-dory 19 angler, or a Wooldridge 20 deep water plus. Any thoughts on how these boats will do out on big blue and in the bay would be great. I can't decide. Thanks.

Ah... the old argument of plastic versus tin. In the case of boats, the recycling value is about the same. Wooldridge and C-Dory both make an excellent boat. It boils down to what tickles your fancy the most. The smell of new gelcoat or the utility of a wash and wear boat. The insulation factor of plastic or the lightweight strength of aluminum. The quiet ride of plastic or the pounding din of tin. The beach-ability of tin or the fender out routine of docking plastic. Choices... choices.... Lemme see... can I find that two headed quarter to flip....

I went through it . The scale tipper for me was, I would be parking on rocky shorelines often.
I couldnt see it with anything but a tin boat.

I'm partial to the C-Dory 22 footer, they just started making the 19 footer so a used one would be hard to find. A new 22 wouldn't cost much more than a 19 footer and you get a lot more versatile craft. C-Dorys handle the big water well, the chopy water slows you down though, they start pounding if you try to go to fast in it. I have the 22' cruiser and it's the perfect boat for us, if I was inclined to take a bunch of folks fishing more and do less exploring, I thing I'd lean towards the more beamier Wooldridge. Feel free to PM me if want any more C-D info

find a lot of the 22' only have a 90hp motor on them. is this enough hp? seems like it would be to little for a 22fter..

90 hp is plenty, I run a pair of 40's and can pull a kneeboarder. Top speed on these buggers is only about 30 (I have had mine up to 75 but that was on the freeway  ) The hull design requires less Hp and less fuel

Thanks for all the input. I just expanded my horizon and am now looking at a 21 foot seaswirl striper. This thing is loaded and very seaworthy. Not much more than the c-dory. But I haven't said which I want, 18, 21, 23.

Buy the way, anyone looking for a used Northriver, Let me know. I'm gonna try and post some pics. We'll see if I get this right.

Well I think I've got it I'm gonna be in an 18'6" Seaswirl striper WA. The 21 was just too much for my little truck to tow. This will be much easier to handle when I am launching by myself or with my little kids. I'm so excited. A smoother ride and shelter.
