Garmin GPSMap 176

Anybody have one? I've been thinking of getting something along this line, and wanted some input or recommendations for similar type of electronics.

Please disregard my previous post, I thought the 176 was a handheld. Sorry. Those look like nice units.

Check the Salty Dog discussion thread "garmin gps opinions" which I think was started in late January - there is some info on 176's I think.

The 176 is actually both a portable "handheld" (sort of) and can be fixed to a mounting bracket. I have a 176C which came with a boat I purchased about a year and a half ago. They are very nice units for the price. My only complaint (and this may be true with all of them) is that it can be pretty tough to see in direct sunlight. Good luck with this. Bob
