Default New Member Introduction

I heard about Ifish late last summer from Ugly Green Boat at Newport. It's great to find a group that shares info and helps each other out! My wife and I live on a ranch East of Bend, and started fishing the Coast 2 years ago. We've fished California, Washington, Canada, and Alaska as well. Oregon has been very good to us so far, and it's close! We like to chase Kings, but we have also connected on halibut, cod, and tuna. Our boat is a blue&white 32' Maxcat, "Maverick". Newport was home base last year, but we've also fished out of Garibaldi and at Buoy 10. We occasionally have an open spot on board, and would welcome company. I'll let you know. If you see us this season come by and say hi.

p.s. If I don't reply to a message right away don't be suprised. We only turn the computer on once or twice a week!

Ahoy Maverick,

I saw you out almost every time I was able to get out last year. Fine looking vessel you have there.

My boat, Sea Lion is a green on white 22' C-Dory.

Good to have you aboard.

Welcome aboard "Maverick"

Got to fish along side you late in the season last year, out of Newport. I was on my buddies 24' Trophy, that day. I believe he was calling it "White Trophy" for lack of a name. You might remember, thats when them tunas didn't want to bite so well.....!!!

Very nice boat you have there, you are probably going to want to compare notes with "fish assassin" up there in Depoe Bay.

Probably going to be someone asking you for that "new guy story."

Hope to see you again this summer.

Jerry

Welcomb aboard M.M.. I saw you last year at newport and admired your boat at the gas pump one day. That is a great fishing machine. My boat is the blue and white Criss Craft docked at the end of B-dock B88.

Welcome MM !

Much like the others have said, I spoke with you out of Newport last summer and tried to convince you to trade me for my commercial dory! Not sure why you didn't take me up on it but whatever?

Welcome to the Dogs and give your wife my condolences because you'll soon be addicted to this site and these bunch of misfits so bad that the only way she'll be able to talk to you is if she logs-in herself! (Ain't that right DipSeaDiver? )

Another MaxCat?? Toooo Cool!! I hadn't realised that there was one being
moored at Newport last year. I would have come down to take a look. Are
you moored at South Beach? Mine is Maroon over silver-blue and is moored
at the end of dock3 at Depoe Bay. Rigged as a commercial salmon troller.
She's titled at 27'10", but that's just the waterline length. I've got 30'
deck length and 33' overall. Powered by twin MerCruiser 250hp diesels. What
did you get for power?

OK, I'm just getting too excited here. WELCOME! There. That's what I *really*
wanted to say!

Welcome aboard M M that is a fine looking boat you have. What size pumps are you running? I would realy like to fish out of a Maxcat. If you have a open seat when Mike Kneeland is aboard let me know please. I have my own gear and can help with bait, ice, etc.

I ran into Maverick Maxcat (Mark) at the Sportsman show. He was selling "ProRelease" ultimate downrigger releases. Even talked me into a couple.

He was at the Tr-1 booth with Peter Fredrick. Didn't get to talk to Peter...he was on the phone.

I have a feeling your all going to want some of these releases. They're reasonably priced and the best clip design I've seen.

Nice chatting with you Mark.....now give us that story!!

How'd I miss your intro!! Glad you decided to come aboard!!
This is Charlie (WildHawg), first mate and part time Captain of the UglyGreen boat.
That was sure an incredible bite that day--we had a 3 species limit, and possibly the best Ocean Chinook bite I ever experienced
I'm glad we met and were able to dial you in.
The UglyGreen F.A.V. (Fishing Assault Vehicle) doesn't look like much, but she's very seaworthy, and Ug's about as fishy as they come. Perhaps I'm a bit immodest, but you see us out there, call--we find fish!
You see us out there anytime--just hail the UglyGreen F.A.V., and we'll tell you what we know.

Welcome aboard Maverick,

I circled you a couple of times this past summer, both in the water and on land, just to admire your boat!!!

Hope to see you again this coming summer. Hollar at the Salty Dogs on the radio when you are here and I am sure you will get a good response!
