Re: Harpoons done
Two small deviations from the original picture, I changed the tip design for robustness. I originally turned the entire tip with a 10 degree angle, but the tip would break or dull if dropped on a hard surface. So I changed it, it now has an 8 degree head with the last 1/4" being 20 degree. The tip is still very sharp and much tougher. It passed the drop test on concrete.
The tips will also have a small relief hole drilled in them to avoid any vacuum holding the tip on the shaft when wet (thanks Pilar and Popeye.)

Re: Harpoons done
Kurt,
Just making sure I am on your list. I would like to buy (1) shaft and (2) heads with the cable. I still have your address and will be sending you a check for $49 clams.
Thanks again for your time on this.
Joe

Harpoons done
I have 10 shafts and 20 heads ready for delivery/pickup. Interest has been higher than that will serve, but last time, only about 80% actually picked up their orders.
So this time, first batch will be first come first serve. I will do a second batch when the first one is gone for anyone who doesn't get delivery from the first.
Prices are as follows:
Shaft w/ 2 nuts, $10
Tip $15
Cable for tip installed $2
Shipping anywhere in the US $5
Mail orderers, when I get your check, I will pull yours from inventory so I don't give it away to any of the pick up orders.
Give me a call or shoot me an email if you want to pick em up. 503.756.9078

Re: Harpoons done
Englunds at the show had a few harpoons on hand...same tip and shaft as Threemuch just fab'd. They had the shaft inserted into what appeared to be a broom handle with a wire leader thru the tip attached to some rope. $42 if I remember correctly.
You can make it for much less using Threemuch's parts.

Re: Harpoons done
I just received one of Kurt's harpoons via the mail and I must say it is a thing of beauty! Anyone contemplating acquiring one should take advantage of this opportunity. I cannot wait to use it...hopefully off Port Orford this May. Bob
