Default cleaning a tank out????

If a guy was to put a new 4 stroke on a boat with a 2 stroke that used premix.. You would HAVE to clean out the tank correct? How owul dyou do it short of getting out a skill saw and just replacing the thing?

I would siphon the old gas out, or maybe use one of those little pumps that hook up to 12volt. If I felt like I got just about all of it out, I wouldn't worry about the little bit of premix left.

How big a tank is it?

I think Skein's right. It'll smoke a little till you burn it out but a little won't hurt it. I posed this same question last year as I was thinking of upgrading to a 4 stroke.

A little oil isn't going to hurt anything. Might foul the plugs if you run a lot through it. In the old days, you ran double oil through a 2 stroke for break in. Then replace the plugs and it was ready to open up....

I've burnt pure mix in 4 strokes with out any problems. Do what Skein says and everything will work.
