Thanks,

I'm new at this and I think I posted this twice so sorry about that. The boat looked like a great deal but it's not a good deal if you "can't get there from here".

I was looking at a 19' Stryker and it too came with a 50. Stevens recommended a 115 4-stroke to get the most of the boat. The 50 and low price is just a way to get you in the show room. You can add another 33% or more to the price of their ad to get a ready to fish boat. If you can wait look for a good deal on a slightly used and let the seller take the hit on the "drive it off the lot and lose 20%". That is what I did and budgeted $1500 to add my own touches and minor glitches. If you have your heart set on a new boat that is OK too. Good Luck! My $.02

What better place to post the question.

I would say a 90hp is minimum, 115hp would be even better. I had a 90 prop on an 18' and it was fine. 50 hp seems way under powered.

Oh and welcome aboard.

Too small. You should have 75 hp minimum.
