Default Lifetime Licenses

I've noticed there are quite a few states who offer the option of purchasing a lifetime hunting/fishing license. Anyone know if this has ever been brought up as an option in Oregon? And if so why didn't it pass?

You can get a lifetime lic. in oregon....have to be 65 years old and live in oregon for at least 50 years, I think it is.

To get a permanent pioneer license you must be an Oregon resident for at least six months immediately prior to applying for this license, be 65 years of age or older, and have resided in Oregon for not less than 50 years prior to the date of application. See application below for more information.

Ya I knew about the Pioneer license but I was thinking more along the lines of permanent license anyone could buy.

I bought the resident combo license when I left Texas for $1000, well worth the money! I would do it for Oregon also if given the opportunity. I still have to purchase tags for deer and turkey anytime I go back to hunt.

I also agree that there should be such a thing (if there isn't already.) I know the Pioneer license thing went over well with my grandfather, but he had a few years on me when he got his.

The only Lifetime license I know about is for disabled veterans. I have one of those. It sure saves me a lot of money. All I have to worry about is tags.

We could do it, and it could be based upon a formula similar to what the insurance companies use to determine insurance rates. (it should be easy and very profitable).

A formula that would be deemed "discriminatory". Discrimination against age mostly.

But I'd bet $4.00 that we are stripped of our 2nd amendment rights before we get a lifetime license
option.

figure out the budget, heck, even hire someone that holds a degree in mathematics to help.

Out of staters.... would depend on the state (alaska has a big draw) for moose/ bear and Salmon.
Different than Oklahoma...

Each state will set their own price tag (and the goal should be to pay and maintain sound management of the resources to keep the cash flow coming)
