Newport rock fishing

Has anyone been doing any fishing off the rocks or in the bay lately? Is it a little early for Lings? I’m going over to do some Crabbing in the Alsea and I would really like to do some fishing in Newport and take home some Fresh bass filets . O.D.F.W. reports good to excellent crabbing I guess we’ll see. Hope so. Hopefully I'll still be there for the TA meeting. Do I need to R.S.V.P.?

Don't know about Newport but going over this weekend to Depoe to see if I can get some early Lings (or whatever will bite lol).

i was told they are catching a few lings,but as far as the crabs they are there. we went out 5:30 last night to get clams on the minus tide and threw out four traps on our way out just outside the jettie. got our limit of clams and checked the traps about a hour later and we had 15 keepers!
