Default Winter Rabbit Hunt
Just got back from Christmas Valley Orygun! The rabbits were thick at night and sparse during the day. A little snow sure helped with the hunting though. P.S. this is my first ever post on ifish.

Welcome aboard man,
I've been aching to get out and run my hounds after Jackrabbits..
They used to kick up their heels and I swear I could smell sage brush burning once the dogs cut through.

Glad you got out to give it a go... were you running dogs and scatterguns, or spot and stalk with a rifle?

That can be a super place to get after 'em! My typical effort would include me and a couple friends spaced about 25 yds apart walking abreast through the better looking cover. Me armed with either a .22 or .44 wheelgun--or both. My buddies'd be packing, hopefully one with .22 rifle one with 12 gauge full of #4 shot. Down will go rabbits, one and MOST. Fun galore!
