It would show the surface clutter and the bottom but nothing in between. I checked to make sure the auto sensitivity was off and I had it set to 95%.
As soon as I would go back to full screen sonar on the problem would stop and it would return to normal. Has anyone had this issue? How can I resolve it?
I have the latest version of the firmware installed.

I have a LCX 111CHD. I have found screwing with sensitivity myself not to be worth it. But with in the Menu screens there are some other preset options.
You need to look at how your fishing and also what water and depth. In the presets for mine they have a couple different options for FF set-up. Without looking I forget where it is at. Try those out instead of having the sensitivity all the way up. This also adjusts the screen speed and what not.
The other thing is have you checked to see what your noise rejection settings are at. Because there are two of them. One for surface noise and the other over all noise. If they are on with sensitivity up it won't matter.
But in the salt, deep water I rarely mark nice arches except on rock fish. I mark great schools of bait. Sometimes what I assume are salmon but lots of time nothing here in the sound. I don't think salmon and trout species show hardly at all because they have no air bladder. Thats why rock fish in the salt and bass in fresh show so well the air bladder. This void is a nice return on a fish finder.
Hope I helped a bit.
