Hi Mark,
The first recovery of an archival tag from albacore was from a fish released off of Japan. The fish was recovered near it's release location, but traveled east to 157W during its 313 days at liberty.

Size of fish: 78 cm FL
Gear: longline
Name of vessel: Wakatori-Maru
recovery information:
Date: February 25, 2003
Position: 30°N, 134°E
Size of fish: 82.5cm FL, 9.9kg
Duration at liberty: 313 days
Gear: longline
Name of vessel: Miwa-Maru No.8
The second tag was released July 27, 2003 at 29°16'N, 117°21'W (Mexican waters) from the sportfishing vessel SHOGUN. The fish was 89 cm fork length. It was recovered 10/18/2003 at 32°19N, 119°11'W (just south of Bishop Rock in US waters) by the sport fishing vessel PEGASUS and the fish was 91 cm fork length.
I'll work on getting a map of the release and recovery locations on our web site. We are planning on releasing 120 more albacore this year, most of which will be released off of Washington and Oregon.
John.
