Hey Phil~

I went crabbing monday night and did pretty well. We didn't start until around 8:30pm and crabbed until around midnight. We didnt' use the boat, just crabbed from the docks by the embarcadero.

We used 4 traps, and pulled about every 15 mins. Caught tons of red-rock, and even some that were keeper-size like dungeoness. They made for some good claws! Also caught 4 dungeoness that were keepers. Almost every crab we caught were males. We used chicken from that Thriftway, there in Newport. Hope that helps!

I did well Saturday and Sunday in Newport for crab. Also, I didn't have a pole with me but I marked several obvious schools of bait on the finder.

I went out for a few hours on Sunday lots of little guys, half dozen keepers. Wasn't really at it that hard, 3 pots and not too diligent on pulling them on regular basis. Had the kids out and they were more interested in sight seeing. Might try again on Fri. or Sat.

Thanks all.

If you see a red Alumaweld (The Barhopper) out there this weekend, holler!
