Default Oregon deer and elk muzzle loader question

Are controlled muzzle loader hunts worked as an extra deer or elk or if you get drawn for them is that your only opportunity?

I ask because I would like to try and put in for muzzle loader but not at the risk of loosing out on general archery.

Where do I go for clarification on this in the regs?

Where can I find this in the regs?

I would love to muzzle loader hunt but not at the risk of loosing my archery season if drawn. I suppose I could put in for elk muzzle loader since I don't elk hunt much with a bow even though I buy the tag every year for the last eleven years I've only actually bow hunted elk once in all those years. Archery deer is my passion but I got a muzzle loader as a gift a few years ago and I am getting pretty good with it so I thought maybe this year I would try and hunt with it. I guess elk would be the one to put in for then.

The muzzle loader 100 series hunts are your only opportunity, same as 200 series for elk

Well that answers that. I guess I'll apply for muzzle loader elk and see if I get drawn then.

CONTROLLED DEER HUNTS:
You may submit only one application for the 100 series hunt numbers

on pages 48-52. Successful applicants may not purchase a general season deer tag. The W High Cascade
(119A) or Hood-White Rvr (141A) centerfire firearm buck hunt and Trout Cr Mts Bow, tags allow

hunting in general seasons as described in the hunt area descriptions of those hunts.

If there are 600 series muzzle loader hunts, then that would be an additional tag.

Thank you! That is exactly what I was looking for.

Actually, with a 600 series tag you can hunt with any legal weapon with the exception of a few hunts that specify bow/shotgun etc.
