Re: TA meeting schedule (UPDATED 1/22)
Rod, on that first segment, shouldn't it be: cold beer survival course? Kujo puts you in a Gumby suit and force-feeds you Rogue ale until the suit pops?

I wonder if the suits are easy enough to get into while intoxicated? Hmmmmmm......maybe I should allot some more time?

Rod
I was planning on bringing my Grandson (age 8) down with me. He is an avid fisherman & boater.
Will he be allowed in the Rogue Ales Public House for dinner?
Thanks

Noah II, Your grandson should be able to get in. I take the family their for Pizza. I believe that as long as they are eating it is OK for them to be in there. Rod, Thanks for setting this up.

oops.....edit...
It's at the Rogue facility on the NORTH side of the Bay, not at South Beach.

Re: TA meeting schedule (UPDATED 1/22)
Kids are welcome.
Mark, keep in mind that this is the Rogue Pub and not the Brewery. This is the pub that is on Bay St., just down the block from the CG station.

Re: TA meeting schedule (UPDATED 1/22)
The Blitz is tied up at B65. It's clear at the end of the dock. Good thing the tour is before we start the drinking cuz many would fall off walking out there.
I'm still in the process of doing some repair work so please forgive some of the uglies. But I will have some gear out and computer up so you can see how we slaughter tuna.

Re: TA meeting schedule (UPDATED 1/22)
I gotta a couple "if's".
If the weather permits.
If an adult wants to help out.
If I can obtain small PFD's.
If some of the kiddies who don't get to go on a boat want a ride on Sun morning (Jan 25th) during the USCG class, I would be happy to make a couple laps around the bay.

Re: TA meeting schedule (UPDATED 1/22)
O.k.
Things are still looking good other than the fact I underestimated the number of attendees!
Everyone planning to attend the Coast Guard tour should meet at the Rogue restaurant on Bay St. just prior to the tour. We will all be within walking distance of the Station.
The station tour will consist of us dividing into 2 groups. One group will be shown a video and have the ability to get answers to any questions you might have. The other group will tour the station and the boats.
Once we've all finished at the station we can all make our way to The Blitz for a tour of Mike's charter boat.
Because the number of people is so great, we need to all make sure we are patient with The Rogue personnel. They are staffing up to help offset our barrage but we need to understand that 70+ people all coming in at the same time will put a strain on them no matter what.
We're working on some ideas regarding the menu and the best way to handle the load and I'll post updates on this thread.
There will be certain volunteers that I'd like to make sure we take care of for their help in this event. This would include Mr. Fleck, Captn Kujo, Albacore Tuna Captain, and any Coast Guard and Coast Guard Auxillary members that decide to show up to our dinner meeting. Perhaps we can take up a kitty to help cover there dinners?
Thanks to all that have offered their help in planning this meeting.

Re: TA meeting schedule (UPDATED 1/22)
No update on the food so it looks like we'll just order when we get there.
There is an update on the Boaters License class though. They will be able to give the exam at the end of the class. They will also bring the application forms with them so you can send in for the cards.

Re: TA meeting schedule (UPDATED 1/22)
Is anyone heading back toward Waldport after the meeting? My wife and I are trying to figure out ride options, and she doesn't want to wrestle my 3 and 1 1/2 year olds up there to pick me up if it's avoidable. Our cabin is about 2 miles south of Waldport, and I'm willing to pitch in for gas. -D

Re: TA meeting schedule (UPDATED 1/22)
I just wanted to say I am impressed by all the organizing that Corriod has done. Really an impressive TA agenda and meeting. If I didn't have to be in Wenatchee on Sunday for business I would be there. Have a great time.
