Cabelas Reels

I have been looking at Cabelas reels and was woundering if anyone knows who builds them or if any one has used them and what they think.

I think if you check the archives from last year there is something about this. I think Reelmeister said that they changed manufacturers yearly. Not sure if thats exact but I think it was something to that affect.

I was looking at the Cabelas reels, but after Reelmeister brought up that parts may be difficult to find, I gave up the idea. It would stink to have to throw a reel away just because one part failed.

I bought Penn 321 GTIs instead for my downrigger reels. They were about $30 more than the cheapest Cabelas reel of the same type at GI Joes, but I didn't pay shipping and they are left handed (a plus for me).
