waterfowl taxidermy pics
I have a pintail in my freezer to be mounted and I'm trying to decided position and who does it. With the season almost over. I'm sure guys are going to be getting mounts done. I would like to see pictures of what people have.
Post up some pics of your bird mounts and who did them. I think a lot of people on here will gain some benifit from it. The more variety the better, Im not looking for just pins but what ever bird you have mounted.

Re: waterfowl taxidermy pics
I really like dead mounts. The one that comes to mind is called "A day at the Shack" that was done almost 20 years ago now by a guy named Rip Caswell (for those of you that know who that is or are lucky enough to have had birds done by him.) I wish I had a picture of it. It was a dead mount with 5 ducks hanging upside on a weathered plank by a nail. It had an old lanyard with a P.S. Olt Call & dog whistle & some spent shells. It's like a shadow box because it was semi framed but it was not a true box frame if that makes any sense? It doesn't really to me Anyway the ducks are a Can Drake, Mallard Drake, Pintail Drake, Wigeon Drake, & Drake Scaup. It just had a way of taking you right there to the end of the day before you got in and started a fire to warn up after a long wet day. I guess that is the gift of any great taxidermist. I will keep trying to find it. There are other good examples of dead mounts. I know that Pat Bradburn has a couple on his website.

I posted this dead mount quite awhile back but i thought that i would share it again. I'm not sure who did the mount, i just saw it on a taxidermist site and thougth that it was kinda neat.
