Default Ridiculous

I have already re-filled 4 reels, re-done my handlines, organized my tuna clones and plugs, tied up all the tackle I have pieces for, packed the gear bag.....and it is just early January. Jonesin' for certain. Does the winter ever get any better? How is it that after a 2 or 3 day stretch of tuna fishing, I feel like I will never do that again and then about December, I think I will schedule every day, all summer, for tuna fishing! Even Halibut fishing would be a blessing right now. ARGGGGG!!!!!!!!

Hang in there WP.

Tunaholic 12 Step Program

Tunaholic Serenity Prayer:

”God grant me the serenity to accept the fact I cannot go out for tuna today, the courage to live another day without tuna, and the wisdom to know they will come again.”

12 Steps To Recovery

1) Put the poles down and slowly back away.

2) Stop hiding lures in various places thru out the house.

3) Never mistakenly call your spouse "Tuna" during lovemaking.

4) As hard as it is to believe, not everyone enjoys tuna fishing.

5) Selling your car in order to buy more gas to go tuna fishing is not recommended.

6) There are other fish in the sea, I think .

7) Leaving work daily to get home and accept packages from UPS/FedX is wrong.

8) No more telling your spouse the truck broke down while you were out fishing so you'll have to stay another day, or in extreme cases a week.

9) If extreme withdrawals have set in, for instance random "hook setting" while at work or home, or making the zzzzzzzzzzzz sound constantly, do not let the tunaholic near any fishing articles like magazines, fishing gear, or boats as that will make matters worse.

10) Tuna fishing is not a replacement for eating.

11) Unlike AA, recovery should be made away from other tunaholics. Gathering tunaholics will only create more problems.

12) It is not acceptable to miss your child's birth because you were out tuna fishing. (My wife told me that one)

Please refer to these steps in order to stay on the right path in the future.

Yeah Dave, well you should see the mess I have, looks like Octopuses mating under the dashboard of new boat. The wiring was pretty messed up, I started clipping wires and all that is left connected at this point is the motor harness the rest got cut, have to start pulling wires this week and getting it all finished, Feb 1st maiden voyage.... We will see! Then I get to start with the gear end of it, thats a job in its self...

I'm with you - I was in Fisherman's supply today - fondling the Penn 12LT's, bought a couple of Rapalla's, a couple of tuna clones. Seems I get a Fed-Ex package once a week with more tuna gear. It's only January!

Thanks for the reminder Rod! I am praying now  John, good to know you are making progress on the new boat! I look forward to running with you this season. February is not that far away. Some lings and blacks to ease the pain umtil May and to trial thew boats and new gear seems VERY appropriate. Maybe we can organize a bottom fishing flotilla? Good luck and good success.

WP.
im the same way. Pain Pain Pain... I went out and got an ice maker that makes 600lbs a day and need to get it going. Went to the boat show twice, and drug my tongue around on the ground, The main thing i was looking at was how many fish could i get in a fish box of other boats, and where would all that ice go

Hey Dean, did you get a chance to look at those Lock-wahsers on your new reels yet?
Since we didnt buy a new boat at the boat show we can send off for some new gear.
But I found the boat I want to get if it isnt a Live Aboard.

OK, so I'm a hopeless tuna virgin hearing alll this. So I gets it into my head that TUNA! fishing is like standing on a freeway overpass lassoing a volkswagon bus...or a fleet of em...

Hey Tom, I know a tad spendy but I just got finished looking at online. I do like at 3200 rpms 14.4 gph 35 mph and 781 mile on the range, not bad for 330 gallons, plus a 20 degree deadrise.
Did you find that Albin I mentioned?
