Its thats Eastmoreland Park, that blonde has been out there for awhile.
That would make her pretty smart in my book.

Andrew,
I see a lot of these around the boat launches around the Portland area. It seems that all mixture with park ducks seems to breed some funky colors.

Domesticated version of Greylag. Just your everyday Grey Gooose.

Re: Blond Mallard? Whitefronted?
There's a couple of those blondes at Bethany Pond. Must be some park duck hybrid. They never leave.

Gave you give a tutorial on this? That is a trick I got to see or better yet try for myself.

Re: Blond Mallard? Whitefronted?
Yep a domestic goose, probably a commercial strain of Toulouse, a french breed (derived from the graylag, as almost all domestic geese are).
Probably a park duck too, neat birds nonetheless.

That is what I practice on my spare time because I don't have a camera that can reach out and get them
But really all it is, is getting the lens as close as you can to the binos and then trying to center it so that the camera is pointing straight through and then trying to focus. I don't know if it would work with your camera though because the lens has got to be small enough to see through most of the bino lens.

Re: Blond Mallard? Whitefronted?
Touluse goose...my spelling may be off. Standard domestic breed. I've shot a couple hen mallards like that....all the same year in the same spot. I got two, a month apart, and saw a third. Not sure if they were one brood. The farmer down the road used to have some domestics, so I think that's where they came from.
