Default Hal-Lock input

I'm an albie newby. I fished albies twice last summer using outriggers with two handlines on each plus three other handlines. I had trouble with halyard creep and am looking for some input on a solution. Is the Hal-Lock a consideration and if so should I use two singles or one double? I plan to use handlines and rod and reel this year. Should I fish the rod and reels off the outriggers? I did manage to catch 16 and then 10, all whoppers. Lost as many as we caught off the outriggers though. I need input from the experienced. Thanks and Happy New Year..... Jim

The new Offshore Angler (Saltwater Specialist)part
of that big Bass Shop back in the Midwest,
catalogue arrived in the mail today, look on page# 143. Key West Dean uses the Hal Lock system.
He reports good things to say, look at his previous posts on this board.
I might switch over to the Hal-Lock this year from using just plain 200lb Tuna Cord, but I don't know what type of material to use for the halyard lines 400lb mono or braided cord?
ALSO;
Worth an honorable mention is page #75, lots of new Cedar Plug ideas. I am going to buy several of the "C", "D" and "F". look also at page #79
items "H" C&H Pro Albi Feather Lures.
They are new as far as I can tell.

Tom's correct, I do use Hal-Locks - I bought them due to the creep I had with my outriggers. I use the double Hal-Lock, although there is also a triple available (as well as the single). I like the double, but in order to run it effectively the tension has to be the same in the two lines. This is easily accomplished by making the line lengths adjustable with the use of a swivel that slides up the lines and takes up slack.

And Tom - you know better than to tease us with talk of special deals on lures - I'm trying to cut back!!

And as far as the type of cord - I use what came with the outrigging kit (Tigress). It's a cord type - twisted and, I believe, coated with a sizing/stiffening agent.

Kamloops Those jet head ceder plugs work great I have fished them for many seasons. The spinner heads also work.I am not suggesting to anyone to get more gear I can not carry all I have now.

Misty D The outrigger lines that came with my TACO grand slam kit was to easy to twist up and I'm replacing with stiffer cord like tuna braid. I have not had any creep trouble yet with one outrigger season behind me. Mark

As long as I'm not with him Kamloops has plenty of room for more gear on his 40' Uniflight. Miss B usually restricts me to 2 bags  on his tiny little Tupperware boat

Hey Mark,
Whaler Man
OK, is it time for a Hot Lure thread?

I have placed my order for the Jet Head cedar plugs, what's your thinking on the other you mentioned and style, color etc...

I ordered some C&H feathers and those top shot F/C leaders also, I'll report back when I see them.

Kamloops
The spinner jets I have are the 4.5 oz, one dark and one light one for sunny days one for cloudy days. I'll start a lure thread now that winter is really here. The F/C leaders are good especially late season. Mark
