Well, I never figured it would happen.....
I must say my eyes about popped out of my head when Drake brought this back to me.....

Cool! I've hunted ducks since I was a kid and I'm a long ways from that now but I still get excited about the dog brings in a banded bird. The process is a lot faster these days. You used to have to mail the info in and then wait for a return letter but now you can call them and get the info right on the phone.
A couple of years ago I shot 3 banded geese on 3 consecutive hunting days. The following weekend I went over to Umatilla and the last mallard of the morning was banded. Pretty exciting stuff.
Do a web search for the number to call and if you don't mind please post what they tell you. I like hearing this kind of stuff.

Congradulations guys, I also shot my first band this year. Look at that green $100 reward, helped pay for my new decoys.

Congrats on the reward band! I've still yet to get one.
And I too had a very lucky year as far as bands go. One pinnie and two mallards. And I only shot 60 or so ducks.

BerettaMan, I have a double band mount. They look cool on the wall. The $100.00 band is very rare. You are lucky there. I would have mounted it. Keith, congrats on you first band. Here's hoping you have many more to come. It really makes your day, doesn't it?

My last banded mallard was a drake and was banded in Sacramento one year before. I shot the bird at Umatilla NWR.

I don't know how many ducks I shot before I got my first band, but likely hundreds. I've taken 4 banded birds, so far. A good buddy of mine has killed about as many birds as I have (we've hunted ducks since '74) and has yet to fall one with any jewelry! Oh--my dad got a snow goose in the 60's that was banded in Russia.

My bird was banded in Oregon on 8/27/08.... They'll be mailing me the certificate with the final data.....
I can't wait to get another one......
