Wood Duck Nesting Boxes Available Soon

Capitol Chapter Oregon Hunters Association will be at it again this year building 100 boxes. The project date is February 7. There are alrady many spoken for with 20 going to Corvallis office ODFW. I know last year we ran out of boxes and could not provide all that IFISHer asked for. I will be busy and not able to help build them but can help try to get them spread around the area. If you want some boxes let me know by PM. We would like to see a few (4-5) go to each area so that there are more habitat areas with some boxes. I hope everyone understands that. Boxes will have to be picked up near Salem.

A few of us cut all the material into kits sometime ago so youth are not around the saws.

The building of the boxes is a great way to get youth involved. If you want to be near Salem a 9 AM February 7th to help build boxes let me know by PM so directions and address can be provided.

I am up along 2 major duckeries: the salmon creek watershed and the Mill Creek Watershed (right where the main of Salmon Creek hits the creek that Bisects the campus (mill creek)

every spring I see lots of woodies try to make a run at it, but by june they are washed out or long gone...

Anything I can do to help (here in my hood) I'll do.

We've got bat boxes on a bunch of trees, and i bet we can figure out a wood duck plan here too.
