White Squall
Master and Commander
Shipping News
Perfect Storm
Pirates of the Caribbean

Most of them have already been said but they definitely get my vote. White Squall especially!

I think we should have a Master and Commander water war this summer! Use water balloons for ammo and kicker motors only for power! Anybody think that would be fun besides me?

To me, the single most significant thing about The Perfect Storm is that for the first time, the big waves look real. In every other "seagoing" movie I can remember, the waves & the "rough weather" folks get caught in are so fake, they look like it was filmed inside my Maytag washer. My wife has listened to me whine about these fake waves, etc. & has to slap me to "quit ruining the movie." Watching The Perfect Storm reminds a guy of the worst bar crossings & rides home in your life.

White Squall

Spawn of the North, with a very young Henry Fonda, takes place in early Ketchikan with some great old trawlers.

I think that A Perfect Storm is a great start, the rubber swordfish are the best.

Speaking of Moby Dick...and whales... how about the scene in "Pinnoccio" where Geppetto and his cat Figaro are inside the whale, they're getting real hungry, and the tuna arrive?

"Da Tuuuna! Da Tuuuna! Figaro, da Tuuuna!" And he starts puttin' the hurt on them, and...lo and behold... those cartoon tuna looked very real!! They did their homework on that fish design.

Just watched Finding Nimo last night. What a cute/cool movie.
I'll have to agree with most of you with Perfect Storm. Also like the newer PT109.

Baitstops choice is good as I too have Tribute to Tuna parts one and two. Part one is best. His Midway video is ok too. These are short subject 40 to 60 minutes long with some advertising thrown in to boot. All tuna heads need to see Tribute to Tuna part one as they still jig-fish for them today on the stick boat fleet, which is off Oregon waters every year. Mark
