Here was my reply on another thread- sorry you had to post three times before getting an answer- he he. Yes, you just hike around and look on the ground- there's a little bit of a knack to finding them- after you find the first couple, your brain starts to know what it's looking for.
"BT18- this is the second time you have asked and you haven't got a strait answer yet- sorry about that! So, the buck's antlers just fall off of their heads right around this time of year- from now through the end of February or so. We usually wait until the worst of the winter is over and there is food for the deer and their strength is up, and then go on hiking/scouting/shed hunting trips- it's pretty fun and you can learn alot about the critters. The antlers are hard to find, but once in a while you find one and it's kinda fun. Over time, you get a little better at spotting them and also start to see some vague patterns on where they drop and where the deer spend that part of the winter. Hope this helps.
