A very Green Day
HuntNFishAddict and I headed east for a day of Duckin' with another friend of ours, we made the 2 am trip east in hopes of a finding a good set up and hopefully plenty of ducks. We arrived at 5 am all set to start our day except for one minor mishap, my other friend who is a from Washington didn't buy his new Oregon license, since he is used to an April to April license validation, needless to say he didn't make it to shoot time.
HNFA and I set out the decoys and just finished about 15 minutes late, when Greenhead #1 comes bombin' in, and splashing down. A good start for me. At a quarter to 8 my other buddy arrives, with new license in hand and ready for a fun day with plenty of action.
We had birds coming into our spread at a very consistent pace, and most were eager to take a little closer look, and many taking too close a look. The fog stuck around all day, and the temperature didn’t get too far above freezing, with little to no wind, but with pull string ready to go we got busy.
Since the action started out pretty fast we decided to take turns on our shots to make the day last a little longer, this was a good idea until about 9 am when I decided I couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn, but I stayed persistent and after a few adjustments we all had our birds, and even a few shells to spare (Some more than others ). The days total 19 Drakes and 2 Suzies

Re: A very Green Day
Next August when the long off season seems never ending that day will replay in your sleep over and over. You will suddenly sit up in a cold sweat screaming Suzie no!!!! And your wife will make you sleep the rest of the night on the couch
Great whack-n-stack dude!

That is a lot of green.
Great Job!!
But..... I don't think cutting the tree down was necessary just for the picture.

Re: A very Green Day
Looks like you guys laid the hammer down!! NICE!!
Hey Daryn...I can't rip ya too much about your shooting. I happen to remember a certain guy who couldn't hit the broad side of a barn from the inside @ 35 yards I did, however, take my man pill the other day, and actually killed ducks with 3.5" shells

I never said all things in my life are going Green, some things need to go back to the old ways.

Which blind would that be?
A couple of blinds definitely did not believe in the 25 shell limit. Either that or they ran out of shells and someone from the standby line came in and shot the same way.

That's straight funny right there.
I also find it odd how, as duck hunters, the cold memories of days like this is what finally keeps you warm in the middle of July.

Nice hunt guys. Got myself 1 more trip for this year lined up for next weekend. That will double my trips for 08-09. Sad, but hey, I am way new to this. Next year, watch out.
Nice pics, too.
