Default flying bridge

Are there any opinions/recomendations on some of the smaller say 25-28 ft boats with a flying bridge. I've been looking at a couple of boats that have this option and figured that there may some things I need to think about. I would like to upgrade from my 20' searay to something a little bigger, more range and still trailerable.
A couple of issues come to mind.

1. How would a short/tall boat act in the wind?
2. How often is that flying bridge really usable offshore in Oregon?
3. Any problems trailering with the extra hieght?
4. What effect would the fly-bridge have on rolly
CR bar crossings?

What else am I missing?

Default Re: flying bridge

Hi well this is right down my alley, Upgraded three years ago, bought a 26 foot Fiberform, cheap boat money wise and quality, but we have had more fun on this boat than almost any I have owned, we moor mostly at Newport, sleep aboard most week ends and have a ball, first the flybridge does have effect both good and bad on fishing, we fish a fair amount of people so the extra room is great and I fish mostly off the bridge, both trolling and drift fishing we do do some of our drift are fast depending on the wind, but you can really see what is going on, I go in and out on the bridge all the time, do a lot of halibut and have to back in like most of them, I would probably not own a bigger boat without one, if you come to Newport much probably have see us its the Bite Me blue and white. If you have any questions e-mail me. jasparseed1@yahoo.com
