Thank you Jerry
I just wanted to say thank you to the guy who built the top for my boat.
After two years and many salty trips it was starting to look a little worse for wear. We put up with missing zipper pulls and a ripped side window most of the summer because the boat was never out of the action long enough to get it in to the shop for a fix up.
I called the guy 3 weeks ago and asked when I could come in and get it done. He remembered the boat and gave me 11/10 for a date and I took it in this last Monday morning. We agreed on the work to be done, replace 4 zipper pulls, replace a couple of worn out snaps, replace the isinglass in the ripped side curtain.
He looked it over and said 'No Problem'.
I asked "If you had to guess, when would you be done?"
'Wednesday, come get it in the afternoon'
"Cool, how much?"
'Twenty bucks.'
"Wow!, hey could you redo the other side window so they'll look the same?"
'Yeah, that'll cost $40, pick it up at the same time'.
"No way!"
I don't want to violate AUP or advertise for free. But if you want to know who this guy is I'll be happy to answer in E-mail. When we first had the top put on he gave advice that made it work for the fishing I do. He's a fisherman and he knows what he is talking about. Good work, done just like he says it will be done and the cost is reasonable. About 2/3 of what the metro shops charge. If you need a top for your boat this is the guy you can't afford to miss out on.
Thank you Jerry, you have a customer for life.

Jerry is a great guy!!
I would highly recommend him to anyone
I need to get my sled into him this winter, to make me a "fisherman's top"
And I love keeping business local, heck he is only 5 minutes away

Re: Thank you Jerry
Getiing tired of getting wet Bruce? seems a shame to have all that comfort one deck below and not be comfy while you fish ....
Sounds like a stand up top maker and good luck....

Re: Thank you Jerry
Bruce, Mel asked me about this the other day. Jerry used to do the road show thing but sold all of his portable upholstery stuff and his work trailer. Now it's just the pole barn in back of the house.
I can ask if he knows anyone who does the road show upholstery. Also Mel says he knows a place out of Warrenton that make 'boat' calls.
When do you head south, Bruce?

Re: Thank you Jerry
John....Thanks for the info....Unfortunately, it looks as though we're going to have to call the cruise south off :depressed: Just way too much going on. We are, however, still flying down to Z Town during spring break. I'm beginning to think that the cruise is going to have to wait til I can retire. I think it's the only way that I'll really be able to enjoy it. I'm also thinking (maybe Julie Rose IV) when that happens

Here's to the Julie Rose IV!!!
Lot's going on sounds good. Hope that means your business is brisk.
Bruce, where are you going to park all those unloved former flagships?
